I loved that we had a chance to try many create tasks and could see what would fit in with our students. Plus, to see the many different types of create activities expanded my mind. We also shared into a sheet document endless amazing create ideas which is now a resource I will continue to refer to. The way we share together in RPI has had a huge positive effect on my teaching, its been a challenge too, its made me really look at what I do as a teacher and how I can become even better for my students. Sometimes change is hard, but if you make it the new normal, it will always only have positive effects on me and my classroom. I'm excited to offer more creating opportunities in my classroom!

I totally agree with the sentiments of your post today: “to see the many different types of create activities expanded my mind”. Designing deliberate, high value opportunities for learners to create in response to text is empowering, motivating and consolidates learning in powerful ways!
I’m also excited that you enjoyed opportunities to practise designing resources with the above aspects in mind, via a ‘tighter and looser” design, and the one-shot Book Trailer. It’s another way to encourage readers to recommend books they have read to others, whilst also promoting important skills like presenting, collaborating and summarising - an important reminder of skills tamariki will need even beyond school.
